Hon. Jane Maina (Kirinyaga) has moved a Motion on the introduction of comprehensive health, wellness and sex education in the curriculum as a core subject in schools by the National Government through the State Department of Basic Education.

𝐇𝐎𝐔𝐒𝐄 𝐀𝐏𝐏𝐑𝐎𝐕𝐄𝐒 𝐑𝐄𝐆𝐔𝐋𝐀𝐓𝐈𝐎𝐍𝐒 𝐎𝐍 𝐃𝐈𝐆𝐈𝐓𝐀𝐋 𝐓𝐀𝐗𝐀𝐓𝐈𝐎𝐍

The National Assembly has approved the Value Added Tax (Electronic Internet and Digital Market Supply Regulations) 2023.

This approval effectively amends the existing Value Added Tax (VAT) Regulations initially published in 2020, with new requirements for the taxation of electronic, internet and electronic marketplace supplies.

The National Assembly may soon have to extend its sitting hours to clear the backlog of Private Members Bills.

The  National Assembly Speaker Rt. Hon. (Dr.) Moses Wetang'ula told the House that  one suggestion for the House to enable it clear pending business is to sit for longer sitting hours and the likelihood of introduction of Thursday morning sittings.

"To all Members with queuing business at the Table Office and in the House be available on short notice to prosecute your business," said Hon. Wetang'ula.

The National Assembly Committee on Health and the Committee on Agriculture and Livestock jointly conducted a meeting with various stakeholders to discuss the Food & Feed Safety Co-ordination Control Bill. The session was co-chaired by Hon. Dr. Robert Pukose, the Chair of the Health Committee, and Hon. Brighton Yegon, the Vice Chair of the Agriculture and Livestock Committee.
