COMMITTEE GIVES LAKE BASIN DEVELOPMENT AUTHORITY MORE TIME TO PROVIDE ANSWERS TO AUDIT OR GENERAL’S QUERIES

The Public Investment Committee on Commercial Affairs and Energy chaired by Hon. David Pkosing has given the Lake Basin Development Authority (LBDA) one month to prepare well and submit satisfactory responses to the queries raised in the Auditor General’s Report.

Hon. Pkosing told the LBDA management led by the Acting Managing Director Mr. Wycliffe Ochiaga to, “re-look at their responses to the queries raised, prepare well and appear before the Committee in a month’s time”.

In addition, the Chairperson directed the Authority to provide substantive documentation to support their presentation when they next appear before the Committee.

Among the issues the Authority is expected to respond to are; building and work in progress, title documents, disposal of Authority’s motor vehicles, staff advances/loans and the Authority’s Mandate (Project activities) during the 2007/2008 Financial Year.

Additionally, the Authority has been asked to submit its land ownership documents, status of stalled work in progress, receivables from non-exchange transactions, failure to comply with loan agreement terms, non-compliance with the law on ethnic composition and unapproved expenditure on board of directors’ allowance.
