The senator for Meru County , Sen. Kathuri Murungi seeks for statement from the standing committee on Education on the alarmingly high transfer of teachers at KK Mukalamatu Primary School in Karama Ward,Tigania East Constituency and other schools in Meru County.

In the statement the Senator want the committee to;

1. State the reasons for the high number of transfers sought by teachers in schools in Meru County, particularly at KK Mukalamatu Primary School in Karama Ward in Tigania East Constituency;

Senate Committee on Lands, Environment and Natural Resources led by Taita -Taveta Senator Johnes Mwaruma met today to deliberate on Petition to the Senate by Mbogo’s Family of Mbari ya Mbogo concerning forgery, perjury and Illegal alienation of LR NO. 7153/1,7153/2,7153/ R also known as LR. 12825 located in Kasarini Estate, Kiambu County.

The Cabinet Secretary in the Ministry of Education Hon. Ezekiel Machogu has today informed the Senate that his Ministry is doing all it can to ensure Mukumu Girls High School becomes among the top ten schools in the country.

While appearing before the August House for his inaugural question time, CS Machogu

informed the Honorable Senators that his Ministry’s quality assurance team has already undertaken an assessment of the school and provided specific recommendations to guide the school’s management, which the Ministry will duly implement.

Murang`a Senator Joe Nyutu is seeking a statement from the Senate Standing Committee on Trade, Industrialization and Tourism on the circumstances that led to the closure of Murang`a County Creameries in Murang`a County.

Sen. Nyutu in his request wants the committee to state reasons for the closure of Murang`a County Creameries indicating plans in place by the County Government to revive the factory.

Senator Gataya Mo`fire has sought a statement from the Senate Standing Committee on National Cohesion, Equal Opportunity and Regional Integration regarding the declassification of Igamba-Ng`ombe Sub county in Tharaka Nithi County as an Arid and semi-Arid area (ASAL).

Sen. Mo`fire wants the committee to state measures, if any, to revoke declassification of Igamba-Ng`ombe Sub county as an ASAL area noting that such classification has an effect on allocation of funds by Government for development, provision of Government services as well as retention of public servants in the area.

Nominated Senator Raphael Chimera has sought a statement from the Senate Standing Committee on Roads, Transportation and Housing on the construction of the Kwale-Kinango Road.

In his request, Sen. Chimera wants the committee to provide a comprehensive report on the current status of construction and maintenance of the Kwale-Kinango road, indicating the timeline for completion of the project explaining the challenges faced during the construction and maintenance process, detailing the measures being taken to address the challenges to ensure timely completion of the project.
