𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐒𝐄𝐍𝐀𝐓𝐄 𝐕𝐎𝐓𝐄 𝐒𝐀𝐕𝐄𝐒 𝐒𝐈𝐀𝐘𝐀 𝐃𝐄𝐏𝐔𝐓𝐘 𝐆𝐎𝐕𝐄𝐑𝐍𝐎𝐑 𝐅𝐑𝐎𝐌 𝐈𝐌𝐏𝐄𝐀𝐂𝐇𝐌𝐄𝐍𝐓.

The Senate has voted to shoot down the report by the Special Committee recommending the removal from office of the Siaya Deputy Governor Dr.William Oduol through impeachment.

27 Senators voted against both charges levelled against the Deputy Governor with 16 Senators voting to support the charges.

Announcing the verdict the Speaker of the Senate Rt Hon. Amason Jeffa Kingi, EGH said the result of the vote means the Senate had failed to remove the Deputy Governor from office therefore he continues to serve as the Deputy Governor of Siaya County.

The National Assembly’s Public Petitions Committee chaired by Hon. Nimrod Mbai (Kitui East) undertook a fact-finding visit of Narok East Constituency following a petition by the area Member of Parliament Hon. Lemanken Aramat. The petition filed in the House on behalf of the residents is with regard to access roads in the area.

Members of the National Assembly Committee on Housing, Urban Planning and Public Works have questioned officials of the Ministry of Lands, Public Works, Housing and Urban Development over the collapsed Boma Yangu Project. Members were particularly concerned about how the Ministry handled the project.

The National Assembly Committee on Labour held an approval hearing for the nominee for appointment as a member of the Salaries and Remuneration Commission (SRC) Dr. Phylis Wambui Wagacha.

The Committee chaired by Hon. Erick Muchangi (Runyenjes) inquired into the nominee's educational background and its relevance to the position, gaps in SRC and ways to address them, push and pull between the Commission and Parliament, appraisals of workers, issues of ghost workers, and matters concerning working hours.
