The Senate Committee on Cohesion, Equal Opportunity, and Regional Integration has urged counties to adhere to the constitutional threshold when hiring staff.

The committee, led by Marsabit Senator Mohamed Said Chute, emphasized that counties must prioritize Kenya's diversity when structuring their staff.

Senator Chute spoke when the Committee visited Lamu County Governor Hon. Issa Timamy in his office to inquire whether the county had upheld equity in its workforce.
