President William Ruto has signed into law the Water (Amendment) Bill (National Assembly Bill No. 33 of 2023).

The National Rating Bill (National Assembly Bill No. 55 of 2022) has been signed into law by the President William Ruto.

The new legislation seeks to create a standardized framework for county governments to assess and impose rates on land and buildings. It also establishes mechanisms to enhance accountability in the use of revenues collected from these rates.

The Fire Brigade Profession Bill, 2024 was presented before the Regional Development Committee for review.

The Bill, introduced by officials from the Kenya National Fire Brigades Association, if processed will play a pivotal role in professionalizing the fire brigade sector and enhancing public safety through a more coordinated emergency response system.

Health Cabinet Secretary, Dr. Deborah Mulongo has implored Members of Parliament to support the Ministry’s campaign to convince more Kenyans to register for the new health scheme under the Social Health Authority.

The Joint Planning Committee for the 14th Edition of the East African Inter-Parliamentary Games held a meeting ahead of the kick-off of the games.

During the meeting, the Co-Chairperson Bunge Sports Club, Hon. Vincent Kawaya (Mwala) assured representatives of all the member states present that Kenya is ready to host the games that begin on Saturday, December 7, 2024.  

Giving a brief on the preparatory stages of the Games and pre-tournament conference, Hon. Kawaya said Kenya has addressed all the critical areas of attention to the hosting of the Games.
