The Budget & Appropriations Committee chaired by Hon. Ndindi Nyoro (Kiharu)  has discussed and adopted the 2023/24 Budget Estimates report of Expenditure and Revenue.

This Report is a result of deliberations with the Departmental Committee chairpersons on the Budget Estimates for the Ministries, Departments, and Agencies under each Committee's purview.

The Budget and Appropriations Committee has proposed additional funding to some focus areas to assist in settling some of the pending bills, recruitment of more than 8,000 interns in the Public Service, and an increased allocation for the Higher Education Loans Board (HELB).

The Committee also considered among others, the funding in Development Expenditure for Regional Development Authorities which had previously been underfunded to help them execute their mandate.

The Committee is expected to table its report in the House this week
