The Council of Governors (COG) has intensified its push for a larger share of the Roads Maintenance Levy Fund (RMLF), urging the Senate to amend the Kenya Roads (Amendment) (No. 3) Bill, 2025 to allocate 42 percent of the fund to county governments.

Appearing before the Senate Roads, Transport and Housing Committee, COG Transport, Infrastructure and Energy Committee Chairperson Kimani Wamatangi argued that the proposed 5 percent allocation to counties is inconsistent with both the Constitution and the reality on the ground.

National Assembly Speaker Rt. Hon. Moses Wetang’ula has eulogized the late Emurua Dikirr MP Hon. Johanna Ngéno as a dedicated public servant who defined servant leadership, whose legacy will stand the test of time.

The Parliamentary Ad Hoc Funeral Planning Committee, chaired by Tinderet MP, Hon. Julius Melly, has announced that the late Emurua Dikirr MP. Hon. Johana Ng'eno, and three others will be laid to rest on Friday, 6th March, 2026.

The Committee settled on the date after consultations with family members, the National Assembly Speaker and the Office of the President.
