The Senate Committee on Labour and Social Welfare has received wide-ranging submissions on the proposed Public Service Internship Bill (National Assembly Bills No. 63 of 2022), with the Public Service Commission (PSC) defending its centralised recruitment model even as Senators pressed for stronger absorption pathways and broader reform of work-based learning.

National Assembly Speaker Moses Wetang’ula led Members of the Parliament and Senate in celebrating the life of Johana Ng'eno, MP Emurua Dikirr, and five others.

In his capacity as the Chairman of the Parliamentary Service Commission (PSC), Speaker Wetang’ula commended the Parliament team tasked to organise funeral plans for the victims of the Nandi helicopter crash that claimed the lives of six on board.

The National Assembly has paid tribute to the late Member of Parliament for Emurua Dikirr Constituency, Hon. Johana Ng’eno Kipyegon, following his untimely death in a helicopter crash in Nandi County.

The tributes followed a formal Communication from the Speaker, Rt. Hon. (Dr.) Moses Wetang’ula, who informed the House of the tragedy and reflected on the late legislator’s life, service, and legacy.
