The National Assembly this afternoon welcomed six newly elected Members of Parliament, who took their Oath of Office.

The swearing-in, presided over by the Speaker of the National Assembly, Hon. Moses Wetang’ula, is in accordance with Article 74 of the Constitution and Standing Order 3(2), which mandate that a person must take the oath before performing the functions of an Member of Parliament.

The Members are;

(1) 𝘏𝘰𝘯. 𝘏𝘢𝘳𝘳𝘪𝘴𝘰𝘯 𝘎𝘢𝘳𝘢𝘮𝘢 𝘒𝘰𝘮𝘣𝘦 - 𝘔𝘢𝘨𝘢𝘳𝘪𝘯𝘪 𝘊𝘰𝘯𝘴𝘵𝘪𝘵𝘶𝘦𝘯𝘤𝘺

(2) 𝘏𝘰𝘯. 𝘈𝘩𝘮𝘦𝘥 𝘔𝘢𝘢𝘭𝘪𝘮 𝘏𝘢𝘴𝘴𝘢𝘯 - 𝘉𝘢𝘯𝘪𝘴𝘴𝘢 𝘊𝘰𝘯𝘴𝘵𝘪𝘵𝘶𝘦𝘯𝘤𝘺

(6) 𝘏𝘰𝘯. 𝘔𝘰𝘴𝘦𝘴 𝘖𝘬𝘰𝘵𝘩 𝘖𝘮𝘰𝘯𝘥𝘪 - 𝘜𝘨𝘶𝘯𝘫𝘢 𝘊𝘰𝘯𝘴𝘵𝘪𝘵𝘶𝘦𝘯𝘤𝘺

In his address to the House, Speaker Wetang'ula confirmed that the by-elections, conducted on November 27, 2025, in the six constituencies, had been finalized.

"As this House is aware, the by-elections were successfully conducted on 27th November 2025 in the constituencies of Magarini, Banissa, Kasipul, Malava, Mbeere North, and Ugunja. The IEBC has declared the results, issued certificates to the winners, and gazetted the Members-elect," the Speaker stated.

Hon. Wetang'ula extended a warm welcome on behalf of the House, emphasizing the significance of their new roles.

"On behalf of the House and on my own behalf, I extend warm congratulations to the six Members-elect for earning the confidence of their respective electorates and for the privilege of joining this August House as representatives of the people," he added.
