The National Assembly Committee on Energy and the Committee on Public Debt and Privatization have been tasked with the joint consideration of a Sessional Paper proposing the privatization of the Kenya Pipeline Company Limited (KPC).

This follows the submission of the Sessional Paper to the National Assembly by the Cabinet Secretary for the National Treasury and Economic Planning, detailing plans to offload government shares in KPC through an Initial Public Offering (IPO) on the Nairobi Securities Exchange.

The National Assembly passed the Kenya Roads (Amendment) (No.2) Bill, 2025 on Tuesday, 29 July 2025. The Bill introduces reforms in the management of Kenya’s road agencies, including the reduction of the term of office for Directors-General from five to three years.

The National Assembly has passed the County Public Finance Laws (Amendment) Bill, Senate Bill No. 39 of 2023, paving the way for tighter regulation of county government finances and improved transparency in the management of public resources.

The Bill, which sailed through the Committee of the Whole House without amendments, was read a Third Time and passed on Tuesday , July 29th 2025.

Hon. Kipchumba Harold Kimuge has taken his oath as a nominated Member of the National Assembly following his gazettement by the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC).

In a special Gazette Notice dated July 22, IEBC Chairperson Erustus Ethekon announced the reallocation of ten special seats arising from resignations, the passing of previously nominated members, and adjustments to address inconsistencies in party list nominations submitted during the 2022 General Election.

The National Assembly is debating the mediated version of the Gambling Control Bill, (National Assembly Bill No. 70 of 2023).

The House during the afternoon session on Wednesday 30th July, 2025 debated the Bill that seeks to provide for the regulation of betting, casinos and other forms of gambling; authorization of prize competitions and public lotteries; for the establishment of the Gambling Regulatory Authority of Kenya and for connected purposes.
