The Senate Standing Committee on Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries, chaired by Senator David Wakoli (Bungoma), today commenced its county oversight engagements in Uasin Gishu, beginning with a courtesy call on Governor Jonathan Bii before proceeding to the National Cereals and Produce Board (NCPB) depot in Eldoret.

The National Assembly Defence, Intelligence and Foreign Relations Committee chaired by Hon. Nelson Koech will conduct approval hearings of nine nominees for the positions of high commissioner, ambassadors and consuls-general on 𝗪𝗲𝗱𝗻𝗲𝘀𝗱𝗮𝘆, 𝟯𝗿𝗱 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗧𝗵𝘂𝗿𝘀𝗱𝗮𝘆, 𝟰𝘁𝗵 𝗦𝗲𝗽𝘁𝗲𝗺𝗯𝗲𝗿 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟱 𝗮𝘁 𝗣𝗮𝗿𝗹𝗶𝗮𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗕𝘂𝗶𝗹𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴𝘀.

National Assembly Speaker Rt. Hon. (Dr.) Moses Wetang’ula has voiced concern over the frequent issuance of conservatory orders by judges against the National Assembly, saying the practice disrupts the legislative process.

Speaking during a joint session between the National Assembly leadership and the Judiciary on the second day of the Third Leadership Retreat, Wetang’ula noted that several matters before Committees and the House have been halted due to such orders.
