Members of the National Assembly have thrown their weight behind the Public Service Internship Bill, 2022. 

The Departmental Committee on Trade, Industry and Cooperatives has called upon the management of the New Kenya Planters Cooperative Union (KPCU) to review its approach to warehouse modernization.

Members of both the National Assembly and the Senate have raised concerns over attempts by donor partners in the health sector to economically disadvantaged Kenya through practices that foster over-dependence on their support for financing programs related to HIV/AIDS, malaria, and vaccine procurement.

The Departmental Committee on Environment, Forestry and Mining will engage the Ministry of Environment, Climate Change and Forestry and other stakeholders before making a decision on the agreement on the establishment of Global Green Growth Institute (GGGI) which will give Kenya an opportunity to become a member state.

The Senate Committee on Information Communication and Technology (ICT) has directed the Communications Authority of Kenya (CAK) to harmonize the national and county governments' levies and wayleaves to avoid double taxation of the telecommunication industry in the country. 

This comes after CAK informed Senators that county governments are charging expensive wayleave charges for the laying of the fibre optic cables, exponentially driving up the cost of doing business and hindering ICT network penetration. 

The National Assembly, on Thursday, July 25, 2024 voted in agreement with the President’s reservations and the recommendation to delete all the Clauses of the Finance Bill, 2024 thereby rejecting the Bill in its entirety.

Speaker of the National Assembly Speaker, Rt. (Dr.) Hon. Moses Wetang’ula has named Members to the Mediation Committee on the National Rating Bill, (National Assembly Bill No. 55 of 2022). This followed the National Assembly’s rejection of the Senate's Amendments to the Bill on June, 12, 2024.

The Public Debt and Privatization Committee was on Tuesday, July 23, 2024 apprised on the stock of public and publicly guaranteed debt.

The Senate Planning Committee, led by Deputy Director, Legislative and Procedural Services Mr. Zakayo Mogere, on behalf of the Clerk of the Senate, Mr. Jeremiah Nyegenye, visited the Busia County Assembly in a bid to inspect the level of preparedness in the Assembly and assess various facilities on the ground including accommodation and health services in readiness to hold the Senate Plenary and Committee sittings dubbed Senate Mashinani, scheduled from the 23rd to 27th September, 2024. 

National Assembly Committee on Appointments chaired by Speaker of the National Assembly, Rt. Hon.(Dr.) Moses Wetang’ula this morning met to set the mood and prepare for the upcoming vetting of Cabinet Secretary Nominees starting on Thursday, August 1, 2024.

The Division of Revenue (Amendment) Bill, 2024 has been introduced in the National Assembly. 

The Bill seeks to provide for equitable sharing of the 𝗿𝗲𝘃𝗶𝘀𝗲𝗱 𝘀𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲 𝗿𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗻𝘂𝗲 𝗿𝗮𝗶𝘀𝗲𝗱 𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹𝗹𝘆 𝗯𝘆 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗴𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿𝗻𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗮𝗺𝗼𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗵𝗲 N𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗴𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿𝗻𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗰𝗼𝘂𝗻𝘁𝘆 𝗴𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿𝗻𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀.

H.E. the President assented to the Division of Revenue Act, 2024 on 10th June, 2024. The Act provides for the division of revenue raised nationally between the national and county governments for Financial Year 2024/25.
