The National Assembly has invited the members of the public to submit their written views on three Bills.

National Assembly Speaker, the Rt. Hon. (Dr.) Moses Wetang'ula on Wednesday welcomed His Excellency Ibrar Husnain Khan, Pakistan's High Commissioner to Kenya, for a courtesy call at his office, Parliament Buildings.

The meeting aimed to address the petition filed by Ms Christine Njoki Mweru concerning the unresolved abduction of her husband, Joshua Gichuki Mwangi. However, the session was hindered as both institutions sent secretariat representatives instead of their commissioners, who are crucial for discussing policy and governance issues.

The Speaker of the National Assembly, Rt. Hon. (Dr.) Moses Wetang’ula has asked Members of the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Kenya (ICPAK) to engage the National Assembly Committee on Finance and National Planning concerning the proposed tax measures.

The Committee on Devolution and Intergovernmental Relations chaired by Wajir Senator Mohammed Abbas has raised concerns on the proposal regarding the construction of social halls, specifically questioning whether the funding responsibility should fall on the National government or the County government.

The proposal is contained in the County Oversight and Accountability Bill, 2024 which is co-sponsored by Senator Ledama Ole Kina and Senator William Kisang.
