Parliament partners with the University of Nairobi to build capacity for MPs and staff
The Parliamentary Service Commission has today signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the University of Nairobi. The object of the MoU is to enhance the capacity Members of Parliament, staff and County Assemblies in the areas of democracy, governance and international relations.
The signing ceremony was held at the County Hall in Parliament and was graced by the Speaker of the National Assembly, Hon. Justin Muturi EGH and the Vice-Chancellor of the University of Nairobi, Professor Stephen Kiama. This was a renewal of the MOU that was originally signed in 2016.
President seeks House approval of nominees to the IEBC
The President has nominated persons to the four vacant positions in the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC). This follows the conclusion of Interviews on the candidates by the Selection Panel on the Appointment of Commissioners to the IEBC and submission of the Panel's report to H.E. The President.
House Resumes to a full in-tray
The National Assembly resumes this afternoon after a short recess to a full in-tray which includes a few crucial bills intended to give a shot in the arm to the government’s efforts towards universal healthcare for all Kenyans.
This week, the newly elected Kiambaa Member of Parliament Hon. John Njuguna Wanjiku, is also expected to be sworn in by the Speaker of the National Assembly, Hon.Justin Muturi.
