CS MURKOMEN APPEARS BEFORE SENATE ROADS COMMITTEE

Roads and Transportation Cabinet Secretary Kipchumba Murkomen said that the rehabilitation of Mombasa road, Uhuru Highway and Waiyaki Way under the Nairobi Expressway Way will be rehabilitated within the next year.

Speaking when he appeared before the Senate Standing Committee on Roads, Transportation and Housing Chaired by Kiambu Senator Karungo Thangwa, the cabinet secretary expressed confidence that the road under the Expressway will be upgraded to international standards.

Mr. Murkomen said, "Going forward all roads in Kenya will have ducts that will be used for water, electricity and fiber optic cables to avoid destruction of roads when moving the infrastructure during roads construction and expansion."

The Cabinet Secretary Kipchumba Murkomen exuded confidence that Kenya Airways will be back profitability after the Cabinet makes strategic decisions in months to come in regards to the 1.6 billion dollars that the national carrier owes to its creditors.
