The National Assembly Speaker, Rt. Hon (Dr.) Moses Wetangula, has called upon Cabinet Secretaries to respect the House invitations and appear before the plenary to address questions pertaining to their respective dockets.

Expressing concern over the absence of some Cabinet Secretaries, Hon. Wetang'ula emphasized that the National Assembly represents the will of the people, and under Article 153 of the Constitution, Cabinet Secretaries are accountable to the House.

𝐇𝐎𝐔𝐒𝐄 𝐀𝐏𝐏𝐑𝐎𝐕𝐄𝐒 𝐄𝐒𝐓𝐀𝐁𝐋𝐈𝐒𝐇𝐌𝐄𝐍𝐓 𝐎𝐅 𝐍𝐀𝐓𝐈𝐎𝐍𝐀𝐋 𝐏𝐄𝐀𝐂𝐄 𝐅𝐔𝐍𝐃 𝐓𝐎 𝐒𝐔𝐏𝐏𝐎𝐑𝐓 𝐏𝐄𝐀𝐂𝐄 𝐊𝐄𝐄𝐏𝐈𝐍𝐆 𝐎𝐏𝐄𝐑𝐀𝐓𝐈𝐎𝐍𝐒

The National Assembly has approved regulations to establish the National Peace Support Operations Fund, which will provide support for Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) peacekeeping missions and operations. 

This is a result of the House adopting a Report of the Committee on Delegated Legislation, which considered the Public Finance Management (National Peace Support Operations Fund) Regulations, 2023.  The purpose of these regulations is to create the National Peace Support Operations Fund, into which the Government is expected to contribute Ksh1 billion.

The Senate Standing Committee on Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries, led by Kirinyaga Senator James Kamau Murango MP, joined the Deputy President of the Republic of Kenya, His Excellency Honorable Rigathi Gachagua who chaired the two-day Tea Reforms Conference at the Kericho Golf Club, Kericho County.

Senate Standing Committee on Trade, Industrialization and Tourism held a meeting today to consider the following statements before the Committee. 

1. Statement sought by Sen. (Prof.) Tom Ojienda, SC on the state of the Financial Inclusion Fund nationally and its impact on the residents of Kisumu County.

2. Statement sought by Sen. David Wakoli, on the management of the Metropolitan National Sacco Limited. 

3. Statement sought by Sen. Paul Karungo Thang’wa, on the proliferation of dairy products from Uganda;and
