THE ANNUAL NATIONAL PRAYER BREAKFAST TO BE HELD EVERY LAST THURSDAY OF MAY, DIRECTS SPEAKER WETANG'ULA

The Speaker of the National Assembly, Hon. (Dr.) Moses Wetang’ula, has directed that going forward the Annual National Prayer Breakfast will be held on the last Thursday of May.  

During the 20th Annual National Prayer Breakfast held at Safari Park Hotel, Nairobi, Speaker Wetang’ula expressed his satisfaction with the commitment and devotion demonstrated by the Members of Parliament towards this event over the years.

Noting that this is a significant event in the Parliament's calendar, Hon. Wetang’ula said the event will now be funded by Parliament. 

PIC ON ENERGY INVESTIGATES ALLEGED IRREGULAR APPOINTMENT OF EPRA DIRECTOR GENERAL

The National Assembly Public Investments Committee on Commercial Affairs and Energy (PICCAE), has commenced investigations into the alleged irregular recruiting of the Director General for the Energy and Petroleum Regulation Authority (EPRA) Mr. Daniel Kiptoo.

The Committee chaired by Hon. David Pkosing (Pokot South) commenced the inquiry, following concerns raised by the Auditor General over alleged conflicts of interest in the recruitment process and the unauthorized appointment of Mr. Kiptoo to hold the position without the Cabinet Secretary's approval.

THE JUSTICE AND LEGAL AFFAIRS COMMITTEE ENGAGES THE KENYA PRISONS SERVICE ON ENTERPRISE FUND

The Justice and Legal Affairs Committee chaired by  Hon. George Murugara (Tharaka)  met with officials from the Kenya Prisons Service (KPS) to deliberate on the management and administration of the Kenya Prison Enterprise Fund.

 The KPS team was led by the Commissioner General of Prisons Brigadier (Rtd) John Warioba and the Senior Assistant Commissioner General of Prisons Mr. Patrick Aranduh.

The highly anticipated annual National Prayer Breakfast will take place this Wednesday June 7th 2023 at Safari Park Hotel, along Thika Superhighway from 7.00am. This year’s event will be hosted by the Parliament of Kenya, and will be graced by president H.E Dr. William Ruto.

This year’s event, whose theme is dubbed 'Reconciliation', is expected to bring together political and religious leaders from across the nation, as well as members of the general public.
