SEN. GEORGE MBUGUA REQUESTS FOR STATEMENT ON THE OPERATIONS OF THE NATIONAL FUND FOR THE DISABLED OF KENYA (NFDK)
Senator George Mbugua seeks a statement from the Standing Committee on Labour and Social Welfare on the legal structure and operations of the National Fund for the Disabled of Kenya (NFDK).
The Senator wants the Committee to;
1. State the respective roles of the National Fund for the Disabled of Kenya (NFDK) and the National Development Fund for Persons with Disabilities.
2. Clarify the legal basis for the establishment of the National Fund for the Disabled of Kenya (NFDK) and consequent formulation of its Regulations.
3. Indicate the number of beneficiaries of the Fund to date and provide the procedure through which persons with disabilities access the Fund.
4. State the amount of money that has been appropriated to the Fund by the Government since 2013 and indicate how it has been utilized.
5. Provide the Fund’s most recent audited financial statements, outlining the Fund’s assets and the revenue collected from such assets.
