INVITATION FOR SUBMISSION OF MEMORANDA

Invitation for Submission of Memoranda: The Kenya National Council for Population and Development Bill, 2023

(National Assembly Bills No. 72 of 2023)

 

The Senate's Standing Committee on Finance and Budget is inviting members of the public, interested groups, and organizations to submit their written views and recommendations on the Kenya National Council for Population and Development Bill, 2023.

 

In accordance with the provisions of Article 118(1)(b) of the Constitution and Standing Order 145(5) of the Senate Standing Orders, this is a call for public participation to ensure that the legislative process is inclusive and representative of the Kenyan people's interests.

 

About the Bill:

The Bill, which was read for the first time in the Senate on Wednesday, 16th July, 2025, seeks to establish the Kenya National Council for Population and Development. Its primary objective is to provide a legal framework for the Council's functions, including the development, review, and coordination of national population policy, as well as the management of population and development activities.

 

How to Participate:

Written memoranda on the Bill should be submitted to the Clerk of the Senate.

 

Submission Deadline:

All submissions must be received by 5:00 pm on Thursday, 28th August 2025.

Hand-delivered to the Office of the Clerk of the Senate, Main Parliament Buildings, Nairobi.

 

Emailed to clerk.senate@parliament.go.ke and copied to financebudgetcomm.senate@parliament.go.ke.
