Sen. Hamida Kibwana has called for an urgent action in ensuring health and safety in all schools following the tragedy at Mukumu Girls High School.
In a statement before the Senate, Sen. Hamida appealed to authorities and everyone to pull together and be committed to ensuring safety of children and endeavor to bring about long lasting improvements that will help future generations.
On Wednesday, 26th April 2023, the Prime Cabinet Secretary, Rt. Hon. The National Gender and Equality Commission (NGEC) has pointed out that no county has complied with the two thirds (2/3rd) gender rule in appointing County Executive Committee Members (CECMs)and Chief Officers (CO).
