The National Assembly is set to reconvene tomorrow Tuesday, September 17, 2024 for the Third Part of the Third Session following the end of the long recess.

During the recess, Members had the opportunity to undertake Committee activities and return to their constituencies and counties for representative roles.

The Clerk of the National Assembly has received a petition from the Digital Boda Drivers and Deliveries Association of Kenya seeking the enactment of legislation to regulate the sector and to protect them from exploitative tendencies. 

Speaking when they met Mr. Samuel Njoroge in his Office, Association Members led by their Chairman, Mr. Calvince Okumu pointed out that their petition is intended to address key challenges faced by their Members.

The Budget and Appropriations Committee met with different Legislators who presented their Legislative Proposals before the Committee on Thursday, September 5, 2024.

The Departmental Committee on Communication, Information and Innovation met to consider the National Addressing Bill, 2023 which seeks to provide a framework to the naming of streets and numbering of property in Kenya

The Departmental Committee on Energy has been assured that plans are underway to revive the National Oil Corporation (NOC) by restructuring and commercializing its operations and that the Corporation will not be privatized.

The Diaspora Affairs and Migrant Workers Committee held a meeting with officials of the National Employment Agency (NEA) led by the Director General, Ms. Edith Okoki.
