Hon. Kipchumba Harold Kimuge has taken his oath as a nominated Member of the National Assembly following his gazettement by the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC).
In a special Gazette Notice dated July 22, IEBC Chairperson Erustus Ethekon announced the reallocation of ten special seats arising from resignations, the passing of previously nominated members, and adjustments to address inconsistencies in party list nominations submitted during the 2022 General Election.
Hon. Kimuge joins the 13th Parliament as a nominee of the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) replacing Hon. John Mbadi.
Hon. Mbadi resigned after his nomination by His Excellency, President William Ruto as Cabinet Secretary for the National Treasury and Economic Planning on July 24, 2024. Following the approval of his appointment by the National Assembly, he assumed office on August 8, 2024.
The 61-year-old is a disability rights advocate and polio immunization ambassador from Baringo County holds a masterβs degree in local governance and leadership and has been a member of ODM since 2012.
He also briefly served as a nominated Senator in the Senate between March and October 2013.
While taking his oath of office, Hon. Kimuge pledged to βobey, respect, uphold, preserve, protect, and defend the Constitution of the Republic of Kenyaβ and to βfaithfully and conscientiously discharge his duties as a Member of Parliament.β
