2013 – 2017:         Senate Majority Leader and Senator for Tharaka Nithi County, Republic of Kenya

2001 – Present:    Advocate of the High Court of Kenya, Counsel, International Criminal Court

• Legal Consult/Advisor to various local and international organizations including the Government of Kenya and International organizations such as the United Nations (UN) and its agencies – UNDP, UNHCR, UNESCO; The African Union (AU), IGAD, East African Community, COMESA and the World Trade Organization (WTO)

2008 – 2011:     Associate Dean, School of Law, University of Nairobi.

2002 – 2011:     Taught Law on full time basis rising to the position of Associate Professor in September, 2010 at the University of Nairobi; and on visiting basis at the University of Pretoria (South Africa), Central European University (Budapest), and the University of Sao Paulo (Brazil)
